A broken side or rear window runs $200 to $500, and once the correct pane is in hand most cars are finished inside an hour on the driveway. Because the work comes to the car, a vehicle that is not safe or legal to drive with a hole in it never has to be driven anywhere. Call 215-608-1108 first thing with the year, make, model and which window went, and in most cases the car is sealed again the same day.

The urgent part of a broken side window is not the glass, it is the weather. A door with no pane in it takes rain straight into the door card, the speaker, the switch pack and the carpet under the sill, and a sheet of plastic taped over the opening lasts about as long as the first proper gust off a summer thunderstorm. That is the reason this job gets done the same day wherever it can be. On a Sewell driveway the car also never has to be driven anywhere with a bag over the door, which removes the other half of the problem: an open window is an open car, and nobody wants to leave one standing out overnight waiting on an appointment.
The fit itself is straightforward once the correct pane has arrived. The trim panel comes away, the shattered remains are lifted out of the channels and off the floor of the door, and the replacement is bolted to the lift mechanism and adjusted until it rises level and meets the upper seal evenly along its whole length. Run channels are where corners get cut: a few cubes left in the felt will score a brand-new window on its first trip up, so they get cleaned before anything goes back together. Then the card, the switches and the trim clips go back properly. Glass inside the cavity is vacuumed rather than shaken out, because shaking simply drives it into the bottom of the door where it stays.
“This was quite possibly the best auto service I've ever received. Joe comes to you and does the job in your driveway. Price was incredibly fair and the work was fast and efficient! Couldn't recommend this more!”

Very little of the door and back glass we replace around Sewell comes from a break-in. It comes from the ordinary hazards of a house with a driveway and a yard: a mower throwing a stone across the lawn at a parked car, a branch coming down on a back window after one of the storms that roll up over Route 55, a ball, a ladder swung too far, somebody reversing into the hoop at the end of the drive. That pattern changes the job in one useful way. The vehicle is almost always sitting at home rather than stranded somewhere awkward, so we can come straight to it and you never drive a car with a hole in the door. Tell us which window it is and whether the door still opens, and that is usually enough to bring the right glass.

Please do not. Brushing or vacuuming the seats yourself pushes the cubes deeper into the seat rails and down inside the door skin, which is exactly where they are hardest to get back out and where they do the most damage later. Leave the car as it is and the clean-up is part of the job, cabin and door cavity both. The only thing worth doing is taking out anything loose you care about, and if it is raining, laying a towel on the seat is more use than tape over the hole.
It should, and it gets checked before we leave. The pane clamps into the regulator, so the new glass is set square in the channels and then run through its full travel several times to confirm it seats against the top seal with no drag on either side and no fouling at the bottom of the door. If the impact damaged the regulator itself, the motor or a switch, that shows up during the test rather than after we have gone, and you will be told what it is and what it costs before anything else happens.
Tell us the vehicle and the glass that's damaged — you'll see your price instantly, and we'll hold it for you.
